Early Spring is the best time to visit Greece. The main tourist season has yet to begin and the weather is perfect: cool but not cold. Our April tour includes many of the mainland sites of Greece and some that are still well kept secrets. The exact dates are flexible at this point to accommodate as many people who'd like to come. The price of the tour includes all accommodations and meals in Greece, plus tickets to the sites and museums. It does not include your international airfare.
We begin our tour with a thorough but relaxed exploration of the city of Athens and the surrounding region of Attica. It includes visits to the famous sites of the Acropolis, the Athenian Agora, the Plaka, the Temple of Zeus and others. We also tour the most well regarded museums and the regional sites of Sounio and Marathon.
Our next stop is a resort spa 60 miles north of Athens, Kamena Vourla. From there we take short day trips to Delphi, Thebes, and Thermopylae.
We travel south to the Peloponessos and the resort village of Nafplio. From there we visit the many Bronze Age sites known to us from Homer's epics: Mycenae, Tiryns, and others. We also tour the city of Corinth, where the Apostle Paul resided and worked for nearly two years, and take in the spectacular Hellenistic theater at nearby Epidaurus.
We catch a short 45 minute flight from Athens to the famous island of Naxos. We take in the spectacular views, sample the local white wine and tour the sites. We catch a flight back for our departures from the Athens air
